Notes

Making inferences/ Inferring = Drawing Conclusions = Using past knowledge with clues from the text to understand what is really going on in a story.

Just like drawing conclusions when you make inferences you read between the lines.

To begin to infer ask yourself who? what? when? where? & WHY?

Characterization

Copy the notes to your notebook. If there are any notes that you don't understand please ask for clarification.

1. Characters are the most important part of any story.

2. An author develops characters and gives them personality traits.

3. A character might be sad, angry, happy, ambitious, quiet, passive-aggressive, immature, a bully, a daughter, a boxer, a spoiled rich girl, a young athlete, etc.........
