Hello class today we will be reading and informational text called Why Leaves Turn Color in the Fall. Here are the important notes that you need. All of the questions for today's classwork will focus on Author's Purpose, Orginizational Patterns  for writing and using Context Clues, to determine the meaning of unknown words.

Diane Ackerman has three purposes for writing why leaves turn color in the fall they are:
1. Explain a process
2. Describe a scene
3. Reflect on an idea

Diane Ackerman uses three organizational patterns.
1. Cause and effect to explain a process
2. Comparison & Contrast to show likeness and differences
3. Main Idea and supporting details to present insights
